WhatsApp is getting a new feature for Android users

The founder of Meta (former Facebook, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia, social networks Facebook and Instagram belonging to it are banned in Russia) Mark Zuckerberg announced the appearance of a new feature in the WhatsApp messenger, with which users will be able to transfer correspondence from smartphones to Android to devices with operating system iOS system. A post about this was published on Tuesday, June 14, on his Facebook page.

“We will add the ability to securely switch between Android and iOS devices and transfer conversations, photos, videos, and voice messages to WhatsApp. (…) We launched the iPhone to Android chat transfer feature last year, and now we will add the ability to transfer data from Android to iPhone, ”the head of Meta wrote and added that this was one of the most anticipated options.

Zuckerberg did not specify when the function of transferring correspondence from Android devices to iOS will become available to users of the messenger.

Earlier it became known about another new feature that appeared in WhatsApp. It was reported that users were allowed to add up to 512 participants to group conversations.

In 2021, WhatsApp introduced a feature that allows you to securely transfer chat history from iOS to Android. It was clarified that for this, users need a Lightning to USB-C cable.
