Photobank Pexels closed access to Russians because of the war against Ukraine
The bank of free photos Pexels has closed access to its materials for users from Russia. This follows from the message published on the main page of the photo bank.
It is specified that the materials are not available to the Russians due to a special military operation in Ukraine. We strongly condemn Russia’s ongoing illegal war in Ukraine.
Previously, access for Russian users was closed by another stock service, Pixabay. The site does not open for Russian users. Instead of the main page, users see advice to follow reliable information about the special operation on the website of the United Nations (UN).
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in the Donbass. After that, many Western countries reacted to this with harsh sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities. In addition, several dozen Western companies have left the Russian market.
