Jennifer Lopez opens up about domestic violence
American actress and pop singer Jennifer Lopez remembered the difficult relationship with her mother and talked about domestic violence. A documentary about the singer “Halftime” was released on Netflix, quotes from it are quoted by the New York Post.
The 52-year-old artist said her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, was a strong but cruel woman who could “beat the crap out of kids.” Rodriguez herself also appeared in the picture and admitted that she was cruel towards Lopez and her two sisters.
“I have always had the highest expectations from them. This was only done to show that they could do better. Jennifer gave me a lot of problems, to be honest. We fought a lot,” Lopez’s mother said.
The singer recalled that due to constant conflicts, she had to leave home at the age of 18. The mother was worried that she was passionate about dancing and did not pay enough attention to education. According to Rodriguez, education would allow her daughters not to be dependent on men.
