WhatsApp’s new feature solves ‘a major user problem’
Samsung at the presentation of new gadgets announced a fresh feature of WhatsApp for smartphones. According to the Digital Trends portal, the developers of the messenger have solved the problem that some users of the application considered the main one.
The new feature allows users to securely transfer chat history between iOS and Android devices. To transfer, the user will need a Lightning to USB-C cable. Before the innovation appeared, iPhone owners could not download chat history to a device with a different operating system.
Currently, the feature only works on the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones. In the future, the company has promised to expand support to all devices of the brand running Android 10 and above. It is not yet known when the feature will appear on Android smartphones from other manufacturers.
Earlier in WhatsApp, a new feature appeared that will allow users to share disappearing media files – photos and videos – with interlocutors.
