Twitter has blocked the account of the press service of RT France
The administration of the social network Twitter has blocked the account of the press service of RT France in the EU. This was reported by the head of the TV channel Ksenia Fedorova in her Telegram channel.
“In the meantime, Twitter has blocked the account of the press service of RT France in the EU, apparently in order to prevent supporters of our channel from quickly disseminating information about the process,” the editor-in-chief of RT France said.
Earlier, the social network blocked the account of the Russian TV channel RT. Representatives of the TV channel said that the reason for the blocking was the publication of a captured Ukrainian soldier who told how he was abandoned by the command. They added that they had already appealed the blocking decision.
Prior to this, the French bank Société Général blocked the personal payroll accounts of RT France journalists from Russia. The editor-in-chief of the TV channel called the action of the bank discrimination on the basis of nationality.
Before that, the British media regulator Ofcom revoked RT’s license to broadcast in the UK. Two days before, RT and RT France were banned from broadcasting in Canada.
On March 2, the permanent representatives of the EU countries to the EU approved a ban on the broadcasting of Russia Today and Sputnik in all countries.
