The data of 300 thousand users of the Yandex service was in the public domain
The data of several hundred thousand users of the Yandex.Practicum service turned out to be in the public domain. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Information Leaks”.
It is noted that the network posted information about 300 thousand users of the service. In the public domain were the names and surnames of users, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
On May 31, the Information Leaks Telegram channel reported that the data of couriers from another company service, Yandex.Food, had leaked to the Internet. The press service of the service denied this message, emphasizing that the incident with information about couriers that appeared in the public domain is associated with a previously identified leak.
The leak of Yandex.Food user data to the network became known on March 1. Representatives of “Yandex” said that the incident occurred due to unfair actions of one of the employees. They assured that after the incident they tightened their approach to storing sensitive information. Also, according to them, measures established by law were taken against the perpetrator.
After that, on March 22, a website appeared on the Internet, on which the data of Yandex.Food users were visualized in the form of a map. It was alleged that the resource provided information about the addresses of customers, and such are their phone numbers and spending amounts. On April 21, a court in Moscow fined Yandex.Food 60,000 rubles for leaking the company.
