Sobchak spoke about her foreign funding
TV presenter and journalist Ksenia Sobchak has spoken out about her foreign funding. In the new episode of the show “Caution, Sobchak!” on YouTube, she stated that she never received funds from abroad.
“In mid-May, like everyone else, I found myself in the headlines: “Sobchak should be recognized as a foreign agent,” the journalist recalled. She noted that she then double-checked where the funds came from to her accounts. “Once again I rummaged through all the accounts, I realized that no one had ever financed me abroad, I am ready to answer for this,” she stressed.
According to the presenter, she has been checked for foreign funding since the fall of 2021. Inspections, she said, should have ended at the end of May. “I don’t know whether the check was delayed, or after all, no foreign money was found with me. But for now, there is a feeling that everything has calmed down, ”she concluded.
The fact that Sobchak was checked for funding from abroad was reported on May 14 by social activist Alexander Ionov. He explained that the check against the journalist was launched by the Public Committee to detect foreign interference. He also announced plans to check the editorial of her “Beware the News” project.
