Great Britain promised Ukraine an additional loan
London has promised to provide Kyiv with an additional loan from the World Bank for 429 million pounds or 525 million dollars. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his readiness to give such guarantees.
“The Ukrainian government fears that by the autumn it may run out of funding if it is not provided with urgent financial assistance,” the head of the British Cabinet explained his decision.
The total amount of economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine from the UK will exceed 1.5 billion pounds (or 1.8 billion dollars).
On June 22, Boris Johnson called for the restoration of Ukrainian territory within the boundaries until February 24, that is, before the start of the Russian war in Ukraine. Then he also added that Kyiv would not give up territory in exchange for peace and would refuse to sign a “bad” agreement.
